Notes
Finding notes
Searching all notes and finding within an open note are separate
There are two ways to search, and they differ by where you are looking.
Searching all notes
Type a word under Notes on the search screen.
It looks inside the body, not just titles. Text inside files you attached is matched too. Upper and lower case make no difference.
Notes in the Trash appear in the results as well, placed towards the end of the list.
Notes in a locked folder do not appear in the results. Open that folder and search inside it and they will show up.
Searching within a folder
Searching with a folder open looks only inside that folder.
If nothing turns up, a Search All Notes for … button appears. Tap it to widen the search.
Finding within an open note
Long notes are easier to work with when you can find a word inside them.
Open the note and use the search bar at the bottom of the screen. Type a word and each match is marked, and you can step back and forth between them.
Replacing a match with something else is done from here too.
Find within a note has been there since 6.1.0. If you do not see the search bar, update from the App Store.
When you cannot find something
