Notes
Sorting to-do notes by due date
Set the note list to sort by Note Date
To-do notes, the ones with a square checkbox, can be listed with the nearest due date first. This is set in the note list, and it is not the same as tasks kept in Reminders. There are two kinds of to-do covers the difference.
Open a folder, and under sort ↑↓ choose `Note Date`.
Why Note Date
A to-do note keeps its due date in the Note Date field. Sorting by that field is therefore sorting by due date.
To-dos brought over from Awesome Note have their due dates in the same field, so they sort too.
Folders of only to-do notes are grouped
When every note in a folder is a to-do note, they are grouped like this instead of listed by date.
- 1
Overdue - 2
Today's Tasks - 3
Future - 4
Someday - 5
Completed
Within each group the nearest due date comes first. Completed starts out collapsed.
A to-do note with no due date goes to Someday. Give it a due date and it moves into place.
