Troubleshooting
Not showing up on my other device
Check the account, then give it time
Things to check when two devices show different contents.
1. Same Apple Account?
Both devices need to be signed in to the same Apple Account. Check that the account shown at the top of the Settings app matches on both.
2. Give it time
Notes with photos take a while to go up and come back down. Do this on both devices.
- 1Open
Settings, tap the iCloud status line, and leave sync status open. While that screen is up the display will not turn off on its own, so syncing can keep going - 2Plug in the charger and connect to Wi-Fi
- 3Turn
Low Power Modeoff
If that screen shows something you need to fix yourself, start with that. Account checks and full storage will not move a single item no matter how long you leave it open, and the display turns off as usual in that case.
It does not have to finish in one go. Opening it now and then chips away at the queue.
Waiting to upload at the bottom of Settings is not an error. It is waiting its turn and will finish if you leave it be.
3. Don't force quit the app
Swiping the app away sends sync in progress back to the start. Do it repeatedly and it will never finish.
4. Don't turn iCloud off
Switching this app off under Settings > Apple Account > iCloud to work around a problem removes the records on that device. Recent entries that had not finished uploading cannot be recovered.
Events and reminders are different
Events and reminders are not carried by this app. iOS Calendar and Reminders sync them directly. If those are out of step, check the iOS Calendar app first.
